About Me

Welcome, Bienvenido, Benvingut
She/Her | MSc Marine Ecology (Chile) | BSc Marine Sciences (Barcelona)
I am the first prmotion (2015-2019) of the BSc of Marine Sciences at the University of Barcelona. My research topics are the use of stables isotopes to understand ecological responses, the taxonomy of Gorgoniidae using morphological and genetic studies, the role of herbivory in the marine ecosystems and the ecology of heterobranch, specially the order Nudibranchia. Also, i am interesting in how the molecular ecology helps us to see patterns derived from climate change and how to conserve degrading ecosystems. I also studied the MSc of Marine Ecology at UCSC (Chile). My final MSc project want to assess the diversity and structural complexity of gorgonian gardens in order to gain a better understanding of the distribution of that along the coast and the species composition associated.

Currently, I am a PhD student in the Biodiversity program at the University of Barcelona. I am specializing in the ecology and taxonomy of cold-water and temperate gorgonians.

What can we find on this website? I love the union of science with art. Learn new techniques to transmit knowledge. I love taking photographs, both of landscapes and animals, wheher on land or underwater. Also, I try to use watercolor art to draw everything I see.
